Empowering Lives, One Family at a Time

Providing Nourishment, Care, and Lasting Support to Venezuelan Refugees in Bogota

We operate solely on donations from the general public, relying on their generous support to carry out our mission. Every contribution we receive plays a vital role in making a positive impact in the lives of those we serve.

At Food for the Block, we are dedicated to supporting the countless families who have faced unimaginable hardships while fleeing Venezuela and settling in Bogota, specifically in my old neighborhood of Bosque Popular. These families arrive with nothing more than the clothes on their backs, often accompanied by young children, and find themselves living on the streets, vulnerable and in need of a helping hand.

That's where we come in. We make it our mission to reach out to these families, to listen to their stories, and truly understand their needs. Through the generosity and support of our community, we collect funds that enable us to provide warm meals on the weekends and essential care packages to alleviate their struggles.

But our commitment doesn't end there. We understand the importance of staying connected. We establish ongoing communication with these families, fostering relationships built on trust and empathy. We are not simply providing them with food; we are offering them a support system and a sense of belonging.

Together, we can make a difference. With your continued support, we can extend a helping hand to those who need it most and create a lasting impact in the lives of these resilient families. Join us at Food for the Block as we work tirelessly to bring nourishment, care, and hope to those in our beloved neighborhood of Bosque Popular and beyond.
